The official songbook to Les Misérables is available now from Musicroom.com!
Featuring 16 songs from the movie adaptation – including the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated original song Suddenly, written especially for the film – the official Les Misérables sheet music songbook is an essential purchase for any fans of the movie, musical or book.
The soundtrack itself has become the first cast recording to top the UK and Ireland album chart in 16 years, as reported by the BBC.
Many favourites from the hugely successful musical phenomenon are here, some in slightly different forms, and two with new sections including a Gavroche section in Look Down (originally included in the original 1980 French show). The original song Suddenly is also included.
Written especially for Jean Valjean, the character played by Hugh Jackman, for the scene after he discovers the strength of his new fatherly feeling for little Cosette, Suddnely succeeds in encapsulating Victor Hugo’s beautiful statements about how two unhappy souls can make one happy human being. Les Misérables producer Cameron Mackintosh has stated that Suddenly “beautifully explains what happens when Valjean takes Cosette from the inn and looks after her.”
Presented in Piano/Vocal format, the official songbook also features 16 pages of colour artwork from the 2012 movie.
The film itself was awarded three Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture and Best Actor for Hugh Jackman in the Musical or Comedy category, and Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway, and has been nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
