Musicroom Portsmouth were delighted to welcome Rockschool’s Chief Examiner and professional session drummer Noam Lederman to their store for a special Rockschool Live event on Saturday September 8.
With the release of the new and updated Rockschool syllabus for guitar, bass and drums earlier this year, Noam talked to tutors and educators about the exciting improvements and redevelopments within the series, as well as sitting down to play and chat with current Rockschool students and aspiring players.
After the event, Musicroom Portsmouth manager David Courtney spoke to the Musicroom blog about Noam’s visit to the store. David said: “The event was very well attended, educational and the feedback was excellent so I hope to stage another in the coming months. The new Rockschool Piano, Keyboard and Vocal syllabus’s are due 2013.
“Noam charmed and demonstrated the new Rock School Drum, Bass and Guitar syllabus to local teachers and sat down to play drums with visiting students currently learning to play from the curriculum.”

Rockschool’s brand new Version 4 syllabus was released in May and features a star studded cast of world-renowned professional musicians, an updated layout and new features inspired and informed by teacher and student feedback.
The new syllabus also expands the range of instruments and repertoire choices for students, with more freedom and focus given to playing style and genre studies.
With authentic, commercial quality audio content, recorded Genesis producer Nick Davis at Farm Studios, tutors and students alike can revel in the unrivalled rock and pop learning experience of Rockschool. The new syllabus also boasts contributions from such legendary players as Larry Carlton, Jason Bowld, Nir Z, Bullet For My Valentine, and of course, Noam himself.
