NAME's National Curriculum Response Summary

Last month NAME called for support in its submission to the National Curriculum review. You can now read their response summary here.
The National Association of Music Educators developed their response in association with over 100 of their members, together with other educational organisation such as the MEC and FMS, fighting to keep music within the National Curriculum.
The focus at this stage in the government’s consultation is to establish the subjects that should be in the new National Curriculum.  The purpose of NAME’s submission – and those of anyone interested in music – should be to secure the place of music within the set curriculum.
If you wish to make your own submission, you can access the form on the Department For Education website. Please note that the deadline for all submissions is Thursday, 14th April 2011.
