Star Wars Saga

Star Wars Saga – Arr. Johan de Meij (Grade 5)

What could be better than stunning film music from John Williams arranged by fantastic composer Johan de Meij?  The score from Star Wars is iconic, with the original 1977 film music being named the greatest film score of all time by the American Film Institute in 2005. This newly revised arrangement, originally from 1986, features themes used in Star Wars: A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back including “The Imperial March” and “Princess Leia’s Theme”.

Let's Celebrate

Let’s Celebrate – Otto M. Schwarz (Grade 4)

Otto M. Schwarz has had great success creating bold fusions of pop and funk within the band and orchestral world – his previous works Last Call, Funk Attack, and Funky Brass are all examples of this. This new piece, Let’s Celebrate, captures the essence of modern band music, blending traditional instrumentation with contemporary sounds. This piece is sure to captivate both your band and audience, and immerse them in a celebration of music.

Brass Band

Heritage – Philip Sparke (Grade 4)

Nothing is more of a staple in the Brass Band repertoire than a classic march, and this grand concert march from the talented pen of Philip Sparke is the perfect addition to any concert programme. Written in the tradition of Elgar and Walton, the march follows standard form with a brief introduction, followed by the main theme before a bridge into the trio section, with the main theme returning along with a coda to conclude the work.

I Just Can't Wait To Be King

I Just Can’t Wait To Be King – Arr. Philip Harper (Grade 3.5)

Among the most recognised films and musicals of all time, The Lion King is loved all over the world, and the soundtrack from Elton John has become the stuff of legend and nostalgia. This arrangement from Philip Harper for Brass Band is sure to get the audience singing along as your band variously portrays the voices of Simba, Zazu, and Nala. This piece is a perfect addition to any concert especially if you’re planning a “night at the movies” theme!

Flexible Band

Made You Look

Made You Look – Arr. Filip Ceunen (Grade 2.5)

Throughout 2022 I’m sure you couldn’t go far without hearing the catchy melody from this viral song from Megan Trainor. Inspired by Trainor’s insecurities that stem from the ideal body image, “Made You Look” conjured up a storm by combining the doo-wop style of the 50’s with contemporary music peaking at number two in the charts. Here, it has been expertly arranged by Filip Ceunen for a five-part flexible band with optional piano and is sure to be loved by audiences young and old.
