Musikmesse 2012: Introducing the Yamaha NU1 Hybrid Piano

Yamaha have unveiled their latest innovation at Musikmesse 2012 in Frankfurt: the NU1 Hybrid Piano.
On first impression, the NU1 looks like any other high quality upright, but this no ordinary piano – the NU1 is digital.
Featuring five voices with 256 voice polyphony, CFX sampling and Yamaha’s Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC), the Hybrid Piano sounds fantastic, with numerous inbuilt presets and an acoustically optimised stereo speaker system offering both adaptable flexibility and power.
What makes this digital upright so special beyond its great sound and tone? The NU1 has been classed as a Hybrid due to its specialised “Upright-Piano Action” – a real piano action inside makes for an amazingly realistic playing experience.
