Today, the Queen visits Exeter as part of her Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK. Her majesty is set to retrace the steps she took 63 years ago when overseeing the city’s extensive rebuilding work following the terrible bombings endured during world war two.
At the time, she described the attacks as “surely the most senseless and unwarranted air raids that ever took place”. Today, however, her Royal Highness will open the University of Exeter’s new £48m Forum development, an impressive redevelopment undertaken amid much more pleasant circumstances.
The Queen will begin her tour of the city at Priceesshay Square, and is scheduled to arrive at around 11:30am.
To celebrate this most regal of visits, musicroom Exeter are offering a special, on-the-day discount on their range of Ashton Union Jack Ukuleles to any customers who mentions this blog article in store.
