Mel Bay titles available to domestic Chinese market

Mel Bay Publications are now selling into China through Music Sales, following the latter’s translation of the classic Guitar Method books.
Guitar Method books 1 to 4, along with numerous other Mel Bay edicational books are now available to the domestic Chinese buying public.
“China seems almost oblivious to the financial problems the rest of the world is having” said the company’s President, Bryndon Bay. “They just keep on buying because music is so important to them. In the US it seems as though music is the first thing struck off the shopping list when times get tough – and it has been particularly tough in the US for the past two years. Opening up territories such as this really keeps things turning over well. You need to have your fingers in a lot of pies.”
“Obviously Mel Bay is predominantly a fretted instrument music publisher – and then we are predominantly guitars. It’s a great time to be moving into China because now the guitar is growing in leaps and bounds over here” added Jeff Ponte, Vice President of Sales for the company. “Thankfully, and thanks to Music Sales, we were astute enough to get in here now and take advantage of the door opening slightly for overseas sales in China. It’s a very exciting time for us.”
