Learn To Play Day – 17th and 18th March 2018

Join us at Musicroom stores for this year’s Learn To Play Day event organised by the UK’s “Music for All” charity.
FREE beginner music lessons, workshops and events will be happening throughout the weekend to help promote music learning to all ages and levels.

Whether you’re just starting off and looking to make some extra progress, or used to play an instrument and want to get back to playing music, Learn to Play day is the perfect occasion to speak to talented musicians, teachers and instrument experts.

You don’t need to own an instrument to take part, our staff will provide everyone with equipment to play along and learn the basics to playing music!

With great initiatives like “Play in a band” in Edinburgh, Guitar lessons with Rupert Macdonald of Exeter Guitar School and Drum lessons with Will Beavis from http://willsdrumlessons.com/,  we recommend that parents and teachers book in advance for their children or students.

The classes are open to everyone so please read the full schedule by store below:

Edinburgh – “Playing as a Band”

Join our band and learn to play together in 2 hours. First hour will be learning some basics and a couple of songs. Second hour will be putting them together and play as a band.

Banks York – Chris Stanbury from CASIO “Get the best from your digital piano”

Chris is a freelance keyboard player and musical director as well as a lecturer at the London College of Music. Trained as a classical organist and pianist, Chris has played in venues such as The Royal Festival Hall, The Royal Academy of Music and the Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris. His jazz recordings have been featured on BBC Radio 2 several times. As a music educator and examiner, Chris has visited the Far East several times, most recently Malaysia in April 2014, to conduct workshops on piano and keyboard teaching.

All sessions need to be booked and the 1-2-1 will be at the end of each lesson so no need to book those separately.
