Sir Paul McCartney was seen by millions performing at the Diamond Jubilee concert, and closed the packed concert with Beatles favourite Obladi Oblada, being joined by a plethora of pop royalty including Elton John, Cliff Richard, Shirley Bassey, Robbie Williams, Cheryl Cole, Tom Jones, Annie Lennox and many more.
You may have noticed he changed his Bass Guitar for this last number, from his usual Hofner Violin Bass, to a custom made Hofner Jubilee Bass. The Jubilee Bass, adorned with a Union Jack design to match his jacket’s patriotic lining, is now being released for sale, albeit in an extremely limited number.

60 of these basses, each hand numbered, are to be available later this month, and will perfectly replicate the stunning looks of Paul’s own guitar.
Based on the 1962 model Violin Bass, it will feature a pair of Hofner Staple Nickel pickups in the bridge and neck positions, a rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, and that stunning Union Jack finish over a flame maple body and neck.
Musicroom have secured several of these, which will be available from our website, or you can visit our Lincoln, London or York stores to try one our yourself.
