
The shortlist, published earlier this week, revealed that Manchester-based Everything Everything have received nominations in the best song musically and lyrically category for MY KZ, UR BF and also in the best album category for Man Alive.
Plan B will also compete for the album prize for his recording The Defamation of Strickland Banks, while his single She Said is up for the PRS for Music most performed work prize.
The two acts will be joined in the album category by Bombay Bicycle Club for their album Flaws, it was revealed.
The Ivors are presented annually to celebrate, honour and reward excellence in British music writing. The awards celebrate artistic excellence as well as recognising the outstanding achievements of a particular songwriter or composer throughout their career.
Judged and presented by the songwriting and composing community, the Ivors continue to be acknowledged as the most widely-coveted awards for British songwriters and composers in the world.
Elsewhere, organisers said that Tinie Tempah with Pass Out, Mercury Prize-winning band The xx with Islands and singer-songwriter Katie B with Katy on a Mission will contest the best contemporary song category.
Other awards due to be handed out at the ceremony, which takes place on May 19th, include accolade for outstanding song collection, international achievement, outstanding contribution to British music and songwriter of the year.
Lily Allen was the standout artist at last year’s event, with the London-lass collecting a hat-trick of prizes including one for songwriter of the year.
