Isle of Wight Festival: What to see

With huge headline acts like Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Kasabian plus the newly reformed Pulp, there’s more than enough to keep revellers entertained at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.
And, on top of the dazzling line-up of musical talent, there are plenty of other activities for festivalgoers to sample, with everything from a club, bars and even a makeshift beach present at this year’s event.
But, obviously the main attraction is the music and we’re here to take a look at some of the acts that can’t be missed over the course of the weekend.
Foo Fighters
Headlining the main stage on the Saturday night, fans are sure to be treated to a show-stopping performance to rival any festival headliner. Armed with a set of fresh, beefy tunes Dave Grohl and co should be considered a must for anyone on the Island.
Jeff Beck
Jeff Beck should need no introduction, a guitar genius in the same vain as the likes of Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton he can effortlessly switch between rock, prog, jazz and soul. This show will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a genius at work.
Iggy and the Stooges
Widely regarded as instrumental in the rise of punk rock, as well as influential to alternative rock, heavy metal and rock music at large they are sure to put on an entertaining show.
Manic Street Preachers
Despite now being over two decades old, the Welsh rockers are still going strong. With ten albums worth of music to choose from, a trip to the Big Top stage on the Sunday night is guaranteed to be met with energetic number followed by energetic number.
Pulp
Saving the best until last, the Brit-pop legends are back. On before the Foo Fighters, there is sure to be plenty of arm-in-arm sing-a-long opportunities as Jarvis Cocker and co belt out 90s classics, including Common People and Sorted for Es and Whizz.
