Interested in The Big C Choir? Join other Sing With Us choirs

Yesterday, the Musicroom blog reported on the rise of The Big C Choir – a chorus of cancer patients who are set to take the choral world by storm after performances with Russell Watson and at the Royal Albert Hall.
Tenovus, the pioneering cancer charity behind the choir, began organising and funding similar groups in 2010 with the Sing For Life choir. After taking note of the health and social benefits experienced by choir members, the charity now runs four choruses in Wales, with plans to launch 15 more over the next three years.
As the charity state on their website, “you don’t have to be a good singer…every voice counts” and their Sing With Us choirs are open to anyone affected cancer, whether as a family member, friend, health care worker or patient. Tenovus welcome newcomers to “come along for a sing, chat and to have fun.”
The choirs are funded from the Big Lottery’s AdvantAGE grant scheme and run by specialists from Sing and Inspire – an organisation of expert singers, vocal coaches and experts who ensure every session is fun and inclusive for all.
For more information, call Tenovus on 0808 808 1010 or email singwithus@tenovus.org.uk.
