Iglesias to receive film music honour

Leading Spanish composer Alberto Iglesias is set to be honoured at the The Film Music Of Alberto Iglesiasforthcoming Film Awards.
Iglesias is set to pick up the Bremen Film Award 2011 prize, which recognises distinguished actors, directors, writers and producers of European cinema.
The award ceremony will take place at the town hall of Bremen, Germany on January 20th 2011, with Iglesias taking the current accolade from the Austrian filmmaker Ulrich Seidl.
His work with leading Hollywood figures such as Oliver Stone, John Malkovich and Fernando Meirelles has helped to win him critical acclaim and he has already picked up a number of awards.
Iglesias won the World Soundtrack Award for Soundtrack Composer of the Year and Best Original Soundtrack of the Year and has been awarded eight Goyas, as well as the National Award of Cinematography back in 2007.
Furthermore, Iglesias has composed the music for several Pedro Almodovar films and has been nominated twice for Oscars for the soundtracks to The Constant Gardener and The Kite Runner.
The Music Sales composer wrote his first score for film back in 1980 and in the past five years has been commissioned to write for a number of major US productions.
He also stands as the only Spanish-born composer to have received a nomination for both an Academy Award and BAFTA for The Constant Gardener and also The Kite Runner.
While, in addition to his work in film, Iglesias is a prolific composer for both the concert hall and for ballet.
