Ian Brown scholarship offered by leading music school

SSR London, the UK’s leading audio engineering and music production The Art Of Music Productionschool, has revealed that it will be offering a brand-new scholarship.
Worth £10,000, the music college has launched the new bursary in association with the former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown.
The Ian Brown Scholarship will pay the £10,000 fees for one student on its flagship Audio Engineering Techniques and Technology course.
And the 47-year-old musician said it was “an honour” to be involved with the college.
The £10,000 bursary will be used to pay the fees for SSR’s flagship Audio Engineering Techniques and Technology course at the London campus in Camden, starting March or September 2011.
“It is an honour for me to be supporting SSR London and the next generation of talented producers and engineers being taught there. I have a long history with SSR from the early days recording with the Stone Console Confessions - The Great Music Producers In Their Own WordsRoses and I hope the scholarship inspires the next generation of talented producers and artists.”
Ian Brown has enjoyed a long and successful career in music both as lead singer with the Stone Roses and as a solo artist, having released six albums since the band’s demise in 1996.
Meanwhile, as well as the scholarship, SSR London offers a broad range of courses in audio engineering, audio post production, music production, live sound engineering and film and music video production.
To ensure that students are trained to the highest professional standards, the college provides state-of-the-art facilities and is supported by over 200 creative partners from the industry who provide students with opportunities and extra tuition.
Meanwhile, commenting on the scholarship, SSR London head of audio Jonathan Espinosa said: “Ian Brown is an iconic figure in the industry. It is an honour and a privilege that he is offering his support to SSR and we are so excited at the unique opportunities that this scholarship can offer.”
