Hans Zimmer, composer of the soundtrack to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, has recorded a benefit song for victims of the Aurora premier cinema shooting in Colorado.
Recorded in London, Zimmer, posting on his Facebook account, said that is was a “heartfelt tribute”.
“Aurora is dedicated to those who their lives and were affected the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado”.
The track is being sold in a pay-what-you-like format, with people able to make a purchasing donation from just ten cents up to $2,500 or £1,593 in UK pound-sterling.
Aurora has been well received by fans online, who have praised the tasteful power of its mournful, lamenting tone.
“Hans Zimmer has delivered a poignant, moving piece that reflects on loss yet stirs the emotions,” wrote one iTunes user.
