Glee in the classroom

Since Glee first aired in 2009, it has quickly become a TV and music sensation. It reconditions old classics to a younger generation, and it’s working. The show is one of the most watched, that stars such as Madonna and Britney (so famous they go only by one name), are trade-marked episodes. They’ve gotten guest appearances from Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked!), Idina Menzel (Rent), Josh Groban (World famous tenor) and Olivia Newton-John (Grease), to name a few.
No wonder the music sells!
Glee is what every school kid wants to sing, and there has never been a better selection. From the single voice songbooks to the choral works, is has almost become standard repertoire for primary and secondary school teachers.
And is that really such a bad thing?
