The Glee phenomenon appears to have taken the western world by storm, with musical theatre choirs springing up in the UK on the back of the show. Serious news suppliers such as the Telegraph and the BBC are talking about the ‘Glee effect’ and the show does seem to cross boundaries. Critics say this is because, although exaggerated, the stories are based on a reality, dealt with through satire. However, the shows stars contribute the success to the having “a lot of heart. It’s about the underdog and the characters are very accessible to a lot of people”.
And lets not forget of course, the musical connection.
