Fleetwood Mac have delighted their legion of fans by announcing that the world famous group are to reunite in 2013.
The news has been confirmed by singer Stevie Nicks in an interview on US TV station CBS.
“It’s the plan. Because that’s what we do. I do my thing, and Lindsey [Buckingham’s] out doing his thing,” she explained in the interview.

However, she did not say whether the group intends to record any new music in the near future.
The last time the group toured was in 2009 and since then, Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have released solo material.
Only a few months ago, Mick Fleetwood warned that solo projects were proving to be a hindrance, suggesting that it was a significant obstacle standing between the group re-uniting.
“Stevie … will not let her [solo] album go,” he commented. “I don’t believe Fleetwood Mac will ever tour again, but I really hope we do.”
But barely a few months later, the group are ready to hit the road once more and are set to play to sell-out crowds everywhere they go.
The band will have a different look when they next take to the stage, of course. That’s because several former members of the band have passed away since the last tour in 2009.
Former bassist Bob Weston died in January 2012, while guitarist Bob Welch lost his life in June this year.
But while that will temper the excitement of fans to some degree, Fleetwood Mac’s millions of supporters are sure to welcome their return.
The group’s most recent album, Say You Will, was released in 2003.
