Offering diverse line-ups to cater for every taste, this year is no exception. From Bon Jovi to the Black Eyed Peas and from rock to classical, the summer is the perfect time to enjoy your favourite acts across the country.
Isle Of Wight
Taking place between June 10th and 12th, the Isle of Wight has established itself as one of the biggest and best festivals of the season. Headliners this year are as good as ever, with Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Kasabian all taking to the stage at various points.
Glastonbury
No introduction is needed for what is one, if not the, best known festival on the planet. June 24th to 26th are the dates set aside for the event, with U2, Coldplay and Beyonce among the headliners.
Hard Rock Calling
Running at the same time as Glastonbury, Hard Rock Calling is the festival for festivalgoers that want to avoid the hassle of actually camping. Hyde Park will be the setting for The Killers, Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart.
The Hop Farm festival
Originally created in 2008, the event centred around folk and independent music. The aim of the festival was to return ‘back to basics’ with a no sponsorship and no branding. This year’s line-up includes The Eagles, Bryan Ferry, Morrissey, Lou Reed, Patti Smith and Prince.
Wireless
Another festival with a central London location, Wireless takes place in Hyde Park, with Black Eyed Peas, Chemical Brothers and a newly-reformed Pulp the main acts spread across July 1st to 3rd.
T in the Park
July 8th to 10th will see thousands of music fans head north for Scotland’s premier music festival. First run in 1994 and now attended by 85,000 people it’s no surprise that T in the Park is attracting some big acts. Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay and Foo Fighters are scheduled to perform.
Latitude
The National, Paolo Nutini and Suede take to the main stage on July 14th, 15th and 16th respectively for Suffolk’s main festival. Also on offer are opera, literacy and Q&A performances and sessions.
Reading and Leeds
Two of the country’s better known festivals, they take place concurrently in, unsurprisingly, Reading and Leeds. Sharing headliners, My Chemical Romance, the Strokes and Muse will be performing in a very student-friendly atmosphere.
