Fender American Special Series – 'guitars for the times'

The recent Fender American Special Series is designed to match affordability with the authentic US-made Fender sound.
Fender released the series saying “The latest incarnations of Fender’s famous Telecaster and Stratocaster models comprise the new American Special series-built “by the people and for people” as value-conscious “guitars for the times.”  They are designed specifically to bring the full Fender experience of a terrific-sounding, smooth-playing, rock-solid-built U.S.-made Fender guitar to the workingman without emptying his bank account.”
The three instruments in the series – the America Special Stratocaster, the America Special HSS Stratocaster and the American Special Telecaster – all feature an alder body, with a maple neck and 22-fret maple fingerboard, and use Texas Special™ pickups, with the HSS Stratocaster using an additional Atomic™ Humbucker pickup.
The series has been reviewed by MusicRadar, rating them among ‘the best electric guitars under £1000’, adding “…these American Specials succeed with value and tone in abundance.  Wonderful necks, great sounds and a perfect price/quality compromise…”
