A lullaby written to celebrate the birth of my grandson Zyaire. I took the Brahms Lullaby (Cradle Song), and, since we live in the Caribbean, I added Caribbean rhythms to the well known tune. The Time Signature changes constantly through 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, and 6/4, yet it flows naturally. It is always just 2 part writing throughout. Sections include the adapted theme, a lullaby, a lilt, a music box, and a droning African drum. Advanced Intermediate because of the rhythm. This is a recital quality piece with a fresh take on a beloved tune. 5 pages, 4:30 minutes Three versions published separately...Piano Solo, Organ Solo, and Alto Flute/Cello duet NB Good speakers are needed to hear the low notes.
