Dr. Tom's Charts / Telematic Studios #1413840. Published by Dr. Tom's Charts / Telematic Studios (A0.1854203)."You Stole the Show" is Sienna Spiro's breathtaking soul-pop ballad, released in 2025 and co-produced by Yakob and Eddie Lopes, guided by piano and orchestral strings that showcase the remarkable emotional depth of one of British music's most exciting young voices. "You Stole the Show" is an ideal choice for smaller, more intimate ensembles — duos, trios, or solo performers with accompaniment — who want to explore the art of restraint, space, and raw emotional storytelling in a contemporary soul setting. The arrangement relies on minimal instrumentation, anchored by piano and lush strings, making it a masterclass for pianists in how to support a vocal with sensitivity and purpose rather than complexity, demanding that every note carries weight and serves the lyric above all else. For string players, the cinematic orchestral lines require a keen sense of dynamic shaping and emotional arc, building and receding with the drama of the song rather than simply filling space. Spiro's voice — deep and smoky with impressive control and a touch of Etta James rasp — sets an extraordinarily high bar for singers, requiring a mezzo-soprano range, exceptional breath control, and the ability to convey layered emotion — vulnerability, longing, frustration, and fantasy — without ever tipping into melodrama. The vocal demands nuance far more than power, rewarding performers who have developed the maturity to trust stillness and let the lyric do the work. The song's meta-narrative, exploring the idea of performance both on stage and in everyday life, gives singers rich dramatic territory to inhabit, making it as much an acting challenge as a vocal one. "You Stole the Show" is a stunning vehicle for any artist ready to strip everything back and prove that sometimes the most powerful thing a performer can do is simply stand still and feel.
A NOTE ABOUT DR. TOMS CHARTS
DR. TOMS CHARTS help musicians make more music together. Inspired by the Nashville Number System and the classic Rise Up Singing, these charts emphasize song form with lyrics overlaid on top of evenly spaced chords. These musical roadmaps let you focus on what you love: vocal delivery, groove, harmonies, feel, and more! You can even experiment with different styles and meters.
In the HYBRID chart, the first chord of each line aligns with the first word or syllable on the downbeat, highlighting pickups and delayed entries. Subsequent chords may not align exactly with every word, but once the singer nails the entry, everything locks in! This format might look unfamiliar at first, but evenly spaced chords improve groove and accuracy. The harmonic rhythm guides the melody! For singers, the LYRICS ONLY chart provides all the words with rehearsal cues (intros, verses, bridges, solos).
Keep on jammin!
