My pianist partner and I received word on Saturday the 15th that we would need to play for a funeral on Tuesday, the 18th at our church. The ONLY song the family requested besides hymns from the hymnal was You Raise Me Up. We were absolutely elated to find an organ/piano arrangement of this wonderful song. It was absolutely glorious and a fitting tribute. As with most organ/piano transcriptions, piano does the heavy lifting and organ is most often the underpinnings. We were able to work it up quite satisfactorily in our limited time frame. The piano will require more practice than the organ part. Would likely purchase additional transcriptions by James Michael Stevens.
