Performance notes
The overall joy when rehearsing and performing this version is to nurture both the layered massiveness, the James Bond chord alterations and general build up to “doom’s day” in the intro, interlude and instrumental section, and contrast this with the very smooth and tender verses.
Hint: “Sit heavily” on the notes that hit the main beats (number 1 – 4 – 7 – 10) and try to get the contrast between sections as sharp as possible to emphasize both the extremes: the “doomed” and the heavenly aspects of the lyrics’ message: You Are My Destiny!
