♫ Our preaching team was gathered in the pastor’s office for preservice prayer. A friend prayed that the day’s worship would be worthy of the Lord. That thought overwhelmed me. How could we ever do that?
♫ Sadly, worship is often flawed by thoughts and actions that sidetrack us from our purpose. We judge our pastors, the church plant, the style of music …. We treat the church service with consumer mentality, judging the parts of the service as if we were buying a cabbage at the grocery store.
♫ We seldom think in terms of ‘What kind of worship is God pleased with?” Instead, we concentrate on what kind of worship that pleases us. How many times are we singing to sing instead of singing the lyrics into the heart of God?
♫ These thoughts inspired this song.
