This book, and its companion book 2, represent a gold mine of interesting, well-arranged recital pieces. Some of these pieces appear in one or more of Thompson's courses, but many appear only in these books. Sometimes I might have a student in the green Melody All the Way course, but I want the student to learn the Londonderry Air that is in the red course. It just so happens that Londonderry Air is in this series too!It is best to use this book selectively rather than to try to cover the entire volume. For its price, the book pays for itself in 3 pieces. So pick a few and let the student learn them well. The music ranges from grade 2 to grade 3 according to the red and green courses. It matches parts 6-8 of the Easiest course.

Amazing this book is so cheap. It has a lot of great melodies in it written so beautifully.
