Argentina - Miguel Llobet's Technique. Composed by Miguel Llobet. Edited by Stefano Grondona. This edition: Saddle-wire stitching. Sheet music. 60 pages. MDS (Music Distribution Services) #GHE 903. Published by MDS (Music Distribution Services) (M7.GHE-903).
ISBN 9783890449036. English.
This volume deals with three topics. Firstly, Llobet´s deep and inspiring relationship with the popular music of Argentina, a country he toured five times. It includes his special arrangements, a sort of tribute, to the music of that country in the form of transcriptions of 3 Tristes by Pedro Quijano. We are pleased to be able to present the first publication of Llobet's own beautiful rendition of the 'Triste', a typical genre in Argentinian music. Secondly, we introduce a selection of Llobet´s pupils, who included Prat, Segovia and Regino and Eduardo Sáinz de la Maza, María Luisa Anido, Rey de la Torre, Severino López and many others. His influence on Segovia was massive but most unkindly unacknowledged by Segovia. Thirdly, for the first time Llobet´s own studies which have been collected, reclaimed, and appear complete.
