By Crosby; Nash and Young; Stills. Composed by Joni Mitchell. Arranged by Karen Ivana. This edition: pdf, streaming. 20th Century, Pop. 14 pages. Karen Ivana #1431330. Published by Karen Ivana (A0.1872007).
This wonderfully uplifting flower-power era song is about the famous Woodstock music festival held in 1969, and tells the tale of a concert-goer on the road to the festival. It has been recorded by many artists, notably Joni, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, but this version is based on that by Matthews Southern Comfort, with a few moments inspired by the Joni Mitchell version.
The lyrics to the song's chorus are magical - "We are stardust, we are golden" and talk about finding the Garden of Eden.
There are three parts, the male Tenor/Bass line is suitable for any male voice, and is written in two clefs to suit all singers. There is an optional descant in the final two choruses. It is in the key of G minor but ends in an optimistic C major.
I have catagorised the arrangement as intermediate in difficulty.
