Wishing Stones is based on the Aruba tradition of building stacks of small stones on the beach and making a wish on each stone. Built on a cross rhythm (right hand triplets versus left hand eighth notes), the piece provides excellent growth opportunities for the intermediate pianist and "the music is melodic and graceful." From the original solo piano album Seashells in My Pocket, released October 2017. Like shells plucked from the seashore and tucked into one's pocket as souvenirs from a magical day at the beach, these pieces evoke memories of beautiful islands and coastal cities.
