An expressive and emotional setting of an equally expressive poem by Sara Teasdale in which she expresses her sorrow at the constantly changing, turbulent nature of the earth and contrasts it with the unchanging beauty of the stars. I tried to capture these emotions in the music. Composed in 2010 and winning piece of the 2011 Colorado Composers Competition held by the Ars Nova Singers, who premiered the piece in 2012.
