In 1942, Ilse Weber (1903-1944) and her husband and son were imprisoned in Theresienstadt. She composed this lullaby for the children she worked with, and it is said that they sang this song as they were deported to Auschwitz. After the war, her husband retrieved her compositions, including this one.
Arranged for solo viola, advanced level due to artificial harmonics.
