All pieces of the collection are arranged in three levels of difficulty, each including four parts, and can be performed either by musicians of the same level, by combining parts from different levels, or even as a full tutti with 12 parts. It is absolutely necessary for every pupil to be able to play all the parts of their level and be ready to perform any voice they might be asked to. For this reason, only one part score of each level exists, which all players must read simultaneously; no separate voice parts have been prepared.
