Derek Hasted writes "This charming song, from the Stage Show "Oliver", fits beautifully onto Flute and Guitar. The sustain of the Flute mimics the little Oliver's plaintive voice, and the guitar provides a gentle movement that fits underneath, with some of the accompaniment echoing the tune one measure later.
Played at a slow tempo to match the original, this is an easy-to-play and delightfully haunting piece, ideal both for school concerts and adult performances. This is one of a growing range of flute and guitar titles that I am arranging and each one is carefully chosen to make the very best of the two instruments while keeping the complexity down, so that the piece is accessible to more musicians!
