This Christmas carol originated from the Bas-Quercy area with the original title of "Carol of the Birds." Section A begins with the theme and gradual build up of the song. Section B includes SATB part alternating between modality and tonality. At the End of this section, a modulation to a new key occurs with the help of an Italian augmented sixth chord. Section C, now in the new key, includes a descant by yours truly. The work ends on a Picardy third.
