When Love was born, angel songs filled the air
With celestial voices and anthems to share.
Glad tidings arose there with peace to stay
New choirs still praise Him on this Christmas day.
When Love was born, brilliant light shone, so rare.
One glorious star announced no darkness there.
With new sight the shepherds were shown way
To Bethlehem where dear Jesus lay.
When Love was born, Mary kissed his sweet brow
that yet bore no crown ere all nations would bow.
Then Joseph held Jesus so very close
Before those years when this Baby would grow.
When Love was born, blessed news filled the sky.
This infant, our Savior was born to die.
This baby would ransom a tear-stained earth
And bring true joy on that morn of His birth.
New choirs still sing praises to Him on Christmas day.
