The film's director, Greta Gerwig, asked them to create "Barbie's heart song — the song that is deep inside her, even if she doesn't fully realize it's there, but begins to recognize more clearly as the film progresses." And, this song overachieved that goal beautifully.
This arrangement is shorter than the original and suitable for grades 3-5. It is transposed to E major, giving this version a more hopeful sound. Although it is shorter without the 2nd and 3rd repeat, all the special vocal, piano, and harp fills are included in this version as well.
