This song was inspired by a 1938 painting of the same name by Freda Kahlo and the life and death of Virgina Woolf. The theme of the song is overwhelming life challenges and self-reflection. The song and its lyrics refer to time, water, time going quicker, love not being forsaken, laying one’s self down, sound, overflow, pockets full of stones, cruel mistress, a bargain.
This haunting arrangement is shorter than the original recording and features a solo through the first half of the song. This arrangement also features two dance breaks and a vocal splash. This arrangement designed for high school or college show choir, concert choir or community choir.
