Here's an arrangement of a popular Christian hymn tune by Charles Converse setting words by Joseph Scriven. It is also popular in Africa and Asia, whilst in Indonesia the tune has been used for a patriotic song. This arrangement is in a jazz ballad style, so there are plenty of chromatic clashes and passing chords, which are fun to play, and help to bring this "old standard" hymn tune into a more contemporary setting. The range is well within five octaves, so it could be played on a standard keyboard with a piano tone, as well as full-size piano keyboards. In your playing aim to keep the melody projected, but also bring out some of the inner lines and lush harmonies. If required, you could even use it as the basis as an accompaniment for a singer - just leave out the melody and follow the chord symbols adding your own touches.
