Wexford Carol arr Dale Warland
I'm an amateur flute player and penny whistle player and member of a church choir. I love this carol and have spent a very pleasant couple hours listening to versions of your catalog listings. Wexford Carol is well represented, with a wide variety of arrangements. I like this one a lot but will not be recommending it to my choir director for two reasons. First, it is designed to be sung without piano accompaniment, and our choir lacks confidence w/o keyboard support. Second, the flute part is beautiful but made an impression on me of more limelight than I want. I had the same 2 issues with the Kevin Waters version (actually like his flute line the best today). The version I'm leaning towards right now is by Ruth Schram, with piano support for the choir and a nice flute line that felt to me less exposed to the limelight.
