Were You There is an ideal contemplative hymn for the Easter season. The first stanza of this arrangement is solemn yet harmonically stimulating. The second stanza employs a flowing chromatic line, creating sufficient harmonic tension but enough familiarity for a general audience. As well as a key change, the third stanza uses rich chords and thick harmonic structures to evoke the crucifixion and resurrection scenes. This arrangement of the classic Easter hymn ends with a reflective and prayerful mood.
