Dobbyn’s naturally free-flowing rhythms have been carefully adapted for choir, while fresh harmonic touches - such as the poignant reharmonisation of “and the world is so weary in war” - bring new depth to the familiar melody. An optional Māori karanga can also be included at a key moment, adding to the song’s emotional impact.
