Here is another of Grieg's wonderful 'Lyric Pieces' arranged for wind quintet. The 'Watchman's Song' is a lyrical, peaceful character piece, with an atmospheric middle section depicting the 'spirits of the night'. This is a useful arrangement for teaching or displaying good breath control and legato articulation, and will enhance any concert programme. (N. B. To better accommodate the winds, the original has been transposed up a semitone.).
