This piece pays homage to the group and its aesthetic — though it does not contain much silence.The neologism Wandelweiser could be derived from Wandel (change, transformation, or also walk) and Weiser (guide or indicator, from the verb weisen = to show, to indicate). A loose translation might be “Guide to Change” or “Signpost of the Changing Path.” The cover art (a simple arrow pointing upwards) reflects these meanings. Curiously, I have a special fondness for this piece, even though I can understand that most listeners may find it boring.
