Waltz No 2 Op 34 String Duet - Digital Sheet Music

Cello, Instrumental Duet, Violin, Violoncello - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1895112

Composed by Frederic Francois (dp) Chopin. Arranged by Peet du Toit. This edition: pdf. Romantic Period. 1 pages. Peet du Toit #1453595. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1895112).

Chopin was not the first composer to write piano waltzes, but his approach to the waltz was highly original. Many composers had written similar works, but Chopin's waltzes were never mere dance tunes, and they were certainly not meant to be danced to. Of Chopin's output of almost 20 waltzes, only half of these were published during the composer's lifetime. The remaining waltzes were actually published after his death - many, sadly, in highly edited form.

This waltz is a sorrowful, slow waltz in A minor. Although it was the first to be written out of the three, the waltz was the second to be published. The Fryderyk Chopin Institute believes this piece was composed in 1831.

I have transcribed a section thereof for Violin and Cello.
