Waltz No. 19, Posthumous Valse (Op. posth.) KK.IVb-11

The melody is said to originate from a Polish children's dance.

It was composed around 1843-1847 for Charlotte Rothschild,
who was taught composition by Chopin,
or for her daughter, but since it remained unpublished,
it seems to have been on the burn list in his will.

His friend and manager, Julian Fontana (1810-1869),
contrary to the will, obtained permission from the family
to publish a collection of his unpublished works
(including the Fantaisie-Impromptu) without compensation.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
