The four melodramas can be performed either as a suite or individually. The recorder ensemble may be employed solitically or as a group. It would be interesting to perform them by alternating ensemble / solo scoring (e.g., by assigning high and more difficult parts to soloists and lower, simpler parts to the tutti ensemble). In addition, it is also possible to combine my compositions with other pieces scored for an ensemble of any size (that is, through the use of older or newer interludes or through improvisations).
These melodramas were composed for the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis as part of a larger commission. They were first performed in Basel on 9.9.99 as "Musik für ein Blockflötenfest" (Music for a Recorder Festival).
