By Alfredo Gobbi. Composed by Alfredo Gobbi. Arranged by Andrés Orlando. This edition: pdf, streaming. 20th Century, Historic, Latin, Multicultural, World. Score. 4 pages. Andrés S. Orlando #1253425. Published by Andrés S. Orlando (A0.1688415).

Gobbi was known as a great violinist, but he was also a gifted pianist. This score is a transcription of his composition from the only record left of him playing the piano in Radio El Mundo in the last years of his life.

"Viejo Madrigal" is a vals (waltz) that has no other recordings except for the one performed by Gobbi himself on Radio El Mundo, so it's practically an unpublished composition. There are recordings by other musicians, such as the great Roberto Di Filippo for bandoneon solo.

Alfredo Gobbi was "a great forgiven" in tango history. His work as composer, conductor, arranger and violinist was admired by great tango musicians. As Piazzola said "Alfredo was the father of all of us, those of us who make modern tango".
