Following on from the solo cello piece Le Chant du Loup, this sextet, also designed for cello orchestra, extends the same expressive vein. A variety of themes, incisive rhythms and bursts of jazz colours combine to give the cello an unprecedented collective resonance.
Verone was commissioned by the Cellofan Festival at the request of Frédéric Audibert. It was premiered at the festival in July 2023 in Callian.
