Ventus is the Latin word for wind. This work depicts the beauty and fury of the wind through both E minor and G Major tonalities. Bow articulations range from powerful staccato and lyrical legato to energetic spiccato in the coda section. Dissonance is featured throughout to create a sense of tension and resolution. This triumphant-sounding piece is very approachable and fun to play, with all parts given meaningful contributions throughout.
