The german lurics was written by Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798–1874) ca. 1835, the melody is an old folksong. The comes a mixture of: "Jeg gikk en tur på stien" (original titel Kuckuck, Kuckuck, ruft’s aus dem Wald) and "Småsporven gjeng i tunet" (little sparrow in the yard) by the norwegian composer Catharinus Elling (1858-1942), The last birdsong - "Fløy en liten blåfugl" (a little bluebird flew) was å well known child's play the years after 2. world war.
